Vadim Surkov

Composer, poet, founder of Vsenach Records

Music entered his life long before he realized it. At the age of four, while his peers were just beginning to discover the world, Vadim took his first steps in the world of sound, enrolling in music school to study bayan. But the path to recognition was long and thorny — for more than forty years, music remained his intimate secret, a personal universe known only to those closest to him.

The training was based on special developmental methods — the teacher saw in the boy not just a student, but a future creator. The main goal was not just to teach keyboard skills, but to instill a love for the art of music, to develop hearing, sense of rhythm and musical memory. These lessons became the foundation on which, decades later, the edifice of professional creativity was built.

“The teacher laid the foundations in me but did not rush,” Vadim recalls. “He seemed to know that everything has its time. That music must mature inside before it can come out.”

And the time came.

Word and sound

Parallel to music, poetry always lived. For more than forty years, literary creativity was not just a hobby, but a natural element, a way of breathing. Poems accumulated, sought an outlet — and one day they met music. Thus was born the synthesis that became the composer's trademark: songs to his own poems, where word and sound exist in an indissoluble unity, complementing and deepening each other.

I have always sought harmony between meaning and melody. Poetry gives music a soul, and music gives poetry wings. It is an endless dialogue in which something new is born.

This dialogue continued for decades, remaining in the shadow of his “main profession”. But creative energy accumulated, and at some point it became clear: it could no longer be kept inside.

Vsenach Records — the beginning

Thus the label Vsenach Records was born. The name is symbolic: everything is just beginning. What had long been a personal, intimate diary finally reached the listener. The first album, “Everything Will Begin”, became a manifesto of renewal — eight tracks, eight moments before dawn, when silence fills with the anticipation of change.

The second album, “Time Travel”, developed this theme, turning into a sonic exploration of memory, history and the fleeting nature of moments. Here every chord is a reference to the past, every melody a bridge between past and future.

Today Vadim Surkov continues to seek new facets of the synthesis of word and sound. His music is not just a background, but an invitation to an inner journey, a dialogue with oneself. And this journey is just beginning. Everything will begin — here and now.

Now

In addition to working on new albums, Vadim actively collaborates with young performers, helping them find their unique voice. Plans include creating a cycle of instrumental pieces for theater and film, as well as releasing a collection of poems, many of which have already formed the basis of songs.

“It is important for me not to stop,” says the composer. “Every new day is a new page of the score, and it depends only on me what it will be like.”
